My bear

A couple of years ago, I was at school, in the courtyard before classes. There are always people everywhere, and by no means was I alone. Off to the distance a bit, I saw a bear. The thing was huge, brown, huge, and huge. I saw it perfectly clearly, not in the slightest bit transparent. But it was pretty obvious nobody else saw it, since it was probably 30 feet from some people and they weren't freaking out. I stared at it for probably 30 seconds. Then someone said my name, I turned away, and when I turned back, it was gone. I took that with a grain of salt.
The next morning, it was in my room when I woke up. It was sleeping on my floor, and it barely fit, because my room is so small. But it was comfortable and just.. sleeping. I shut my eyes tight, opened them again, and it was gone. I didn't see it again for a week.
And then it started popping up everywhere after that week of nothingness. It'd follow me to my classes, i'd see it on the street when the bus drove past it sometimes. It'd even sit IN a certain few of my classes. I never really did anything about it, just stared and wondered. Then it left for a couple of weeks again, and it'd pop up everywhere after that, etc. A few weeks on, a few weeks off. The year after that, on my campus, there were Army soldiers recruiting. The bear was lumbering on behind me, not really doing much, just bear stuff while following me around. I think the bear made itself visible to the soldier I passed by, because he jumped and said something along the lines of "HOLY SHIT." Awkward staring between the two of us ensued, and he said "..nevermind, then. just tired." So I think he only saw it for a split second.
Anyway, it disappeared for a couple of months shortly after that, then came back for a few weeks, and has been gone for about 5 months now. Perhaps more. I've never touched it, or talk to it. For some reason I just don't feel the need to try. It just feels right, the silence between us. I don't know if it could talk if it wanted to, because so far it hasn't done anything to show it has intelligence beyond a regular bear.
I don't know what this thing is. I've never tried summoning anything before. Thoughts?

Sounds to me that because you mentioned a sort of understanding that passed between the two of you, that this creature could be the manifestation of your spirit guide.
The Native Americans placed a great deal of value on their personal connection to the spirit world; could it be that this bear is watching over you? Protecting you? Showing you certain paths that you could or should take?
Either way, it's definitely not dangerous, or it would leave a sense of foreboding or negativity in its wake. Look into it more if and when it appears again. Try talking to it, or touching it. Explore this as much as you possibly can.

I do think it's sort of watching over me, as it's come up in crucial points out of nowhere. For instance, when I decided to not move to a different country and leave my family behind (I would have been 'disowned' and still will be when I do ), it showed up after a couple of months of dormancy, and did until I made up my mind to go again. After I decided I would go, it left me. So I think it may pop up to remind me what's best for me or something. Thanks for the input.

Yep, sounds like it's helping you to make important decisions in your life. If you ever get into astral projection or inducing OBEs, try reaching out to it. You may be able to interact more fully with it in the spirit plane. Of course, any time

"I've never touched it, or talk to it. For some reason I just don't feel the need to try. It just feels right, the silence between us." I can highly relate to your experience. I myself have a bit of a bond with a spirit (of some sort) that most often takes the form of a wolf. I've only seen mine twice before but I've often felt his presence. Like you I never felt the need to talk to it, it was simply enough being together. When I shared this experience with some friends before they advised me to try and contact it. Long story short, it was a bit of a double edged sword. He brought out a lot of my personality that I had hid behind a mask. He helped me change from being shy to being very outgoing. From there it seems he brought out more of a cruelness in me as well. I became more controlling, more vengeful, and far more egotistical. It ended with me trying to cut off our connections in anyway possible through a purely mental effort. I succeeded but haven't seen or heard from him since. I still feel his presence sometimes, usually when I really need some strength. But other then that he ignores me when I call out.
If I were you I'd avoid trying to make contact. You already have enough just by his presence. Being greedy never yields good long term results.

Maybe it´s your guadian spirit or Totem, I don´t know that much about that. You should contact it, maybe it needs to give you a message. If you feel you need more security, you can make a ritual of purification, make a circle of protection and then contact that entity to talk.

Yeah. I don't think I'll try and talk to it for now. Perhaps in the future if I feel like it needs to change, but it feels too comfortable.
Do you think yours was your personal spirit animal?
@f3n1x: I don't think it ever needed anything, really. It's never done anything but.. be with me. It's sat next to me for a while and just slept. Never got closer than... 5 feet, I'd say. I'd think it'd try to physically touch me if it needed my attention, you know?

According to my mom I used to have night terrors as a child (from 2- 3) and would shake and scream. When I woke up she told me I'd complain about a "Wolf trying to eat me". Yet I've always loved wolves (dog person here), even planned on building a career around them. However after reading some threads on here I am starting to think maybe it was a Tulpa I had made that went wrong. Other then that I really am not sure WHAT he was. Oddly enough, I'm not really concerned with what he was but I'd like to have him back how things used to be before it got bad. That's why I advise you stay in your comfort zone and just enjoy being around yours.

wolfMaybe is, maybe isn´t. The "Spiritual Realm" is plagued with things you just don´t know if eternal or human created. It´s becaus the "outer realms" are atemporal or "semitemporal" you don´t know if its creation is before or after you call for it it simply exists and manifests (in the world or in your mind) in a time directed way... It´s complicated, you have to live it to understand it fully.

True true, I'm the first to admit I do not know. I know hardly anything about my own experiences much less other realms. Hell I just learned what a Tulpa is less then an hour ago. And my definition of magick is steadily being altered as we speak. I only wish there were concrete explanations for these experiences we have.

f3n's right (is it alright if I call you that?) In my experience, each and every case is slightly different. Although you may have had a similar experience with an unfortunate turn of events, from what she's told us she's never had any negative experience with the bear, so perhaps contacting it isn't such a bad idea after all.
I do agree with using some sort of protective ritual before attempting a summons, however. You never know what might be waiting on the other side.

I'd honestly go with the "don't fix what's not broken" idea. If the bear is not showing itself, don't try to summon it. I think contacting your spirit guide is fine, and if it IS the bear, even better. But trying to evoke something that only appeared in times of conflict is an overall bad idea.

I think what Wolf means is that you just have to bear with it. Oh, you... @thread: I'm planning on moving to a different side of the world in a week or two. I'm curious to see if the bear follows me to that length. If it does, I may see if Baron or my mother in law can see it, since I don't know anyone within my range that can see things. If the bear follows me, I may or may not try and contact it with some protection charms and Baron's help.

I don't think the bear is my spirit guide. I think it's a helpful spirit, sure, but I doubt it's my guardian angel for some reason. Can't really say why, because I'm not sure. Maybe it's the fact that it hasn't contacted me other than showing up.
